About DVOP

Disabled Veteran’s Outreach Program (DVOP) Assists Veterans with Significant Barriers to Employment.

Through the Disabled Veterans Outreach program, the Veterans Representative can help qualified veterans find employment, develop their resume, develop their cover letters, teach interviewing techniques, provide advocacy and access to various community resources for Veterans.


About Significant Barrier to Employment (SBE)

The DVOP Veterans Employment Representative can assist qualified Veterans with Significant Barriers to Employment (SBE) find and retain a job.

SBEs include:

  • Special Disabled or Disabled Veterans who receive VA Compensation

  • Homeless Veterans

  • Recently Separated (within the past 12 months) Veteran who has exhausted 27 weeks of unemployment benefits

  • Offender Veterans who have been released form incarceration

  • Veterans that lack a high school diploma or GED

  • Low Income Veterans who make less that the 6 month poverty guidelines for their family size. Access those poverty Guidelines here.

  • 18 to 24 year old Veterans

  • Gold Cord post 9/11 Era Veterans


Getting Started

DVOPs serve ALL Veterans who have more than 180 days of Active Duty, not including A17 or Basic Training Days.

To get involved with the DVOP, please bring the following documents with you to our office and ask to speak with the Veterans Representative.

Necessary Documentation Includes:

  • A DD-214 Discharge Document

  • Birth Certificate

  • Driver’s License

  • Recent or Old Resume

  • Proof of Education
