Adult & Dislocated Worker

About WIOA

The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) was created to help strengthen the skills of our nation’s workforce. The program provides access to relevant career training specifically tailored to our local job market, ensuring that there is a job waiting for you upon completion of the program.

WIOA Services

Through WIOA you have access to a variety of individualized services to help overcome your employment barriers. Your Career Advisor will walk you through the job search process, and make recommendations and referrals to outside agencies to increase the effectiveness of your job search. You will explore a variety of career pathways that include funding for training, on-the-job training (OJT), job club, and/or direct placement.

Once you’re ready to pursue a career, you will begin working with the Business Services Team to identify local employers that meet your needs. Upon completion of the WIOA Program, you will have a job with a family sustaining wage in an industry of your choice.

If you are interested in funding for training, WIOA can only fund for state-approved programs. You can access the state-approved training list here.

***Please note that our particular program may not be able to fund for every program on the state-approved list.***
